JERSEY CATTLE: The well-balanced Jersey cow is probably the most attractive and appealing of all dairy animals. Their heads and shoulders show a marked refinement, carrying long straight top lines with a rump that is long and level. Colours can vary from a very dark fawn, almost black, to a very light mousey or grey colour. Medium size cows tend to be the breeder's favourite, with the weight ranging between 800 and 1200 pounds (360 to 540 kg). They are usually easy to manage being in the main quite docile though occasionally displaying a tendancy towards a nervous nature.
Bulls are also small, ranging from 1200 to 1800 pounds (540 to 820 kg), and are notoriously very aggressive.
